Kính thưa quý niên trưởng và các anh chị,
Tôi tên là Lê Minh Thịnh, hiện là Điều hợp viên Câu-lạc-bộ Thanh niên Tự do vùng Montreal.
Hàng năm, Hội Văn hóa Khoa học trụ sở ở Houston, Texas có tổ chức trại hè Lên Đường nhằm tạo môi trường sinh hoạt vui tươi nhưng chính là để huấn luyện những kỹ năng lãnh đạo cộng đồng cho những thanh niên trẻ, nhiệt tình trong công tác cộng đồng. Trại Lên Đường, mà thành phần nòng cốt có chị Nguyễn Phúc Anh Lan (gốc Toronto), năm nay đã được 14 năm.
Được biết là nhiều em trại sinh, sau khi đi trại về, sẽ là thành phần chủ lực để xây dựng cộng đồng hải ngoại. Thí dụ như hai phần ba số thành viên trong ban chấp hành cộng đồng người Việt Toronto hiện nay đã là trại sinh của Lên Đường.
Riêng tại Ottawa và Montreal, những người đã biết qua và đã đi dự trại Lên Đường là: chị Võ Như Ngọc, chị Trần Đức Anh Thư, chị Chu Ngọc Lan Anh, bạn Kim Anh (bác sĩ, cháu ngoại cụ Thái Văn Công?), bạn Trần Thái Hòa (ca sĩ, bác sĩ, con của chú Trần Văn Nhã), và bản thân Lê Minh Thịnh. Có thể nói là sau khi đi dự trại hè, thì các bạn sẽ đem về những luồng gió mới cho Cộng đồng.
Cho nên, năm nay, Tôi xin được đề nghị gửi 2 bạn trẻ từ Montreal đi dự, và từ đây trở đi, hàng năm, chúng ta cứ chọn ra 2 bạn sinh hoạt khá nhất và gửi đi. Vấn đề là tiền vé máy bay từ Montreal đi trại tại Texas khoảng $500 dollar, và 2 vé khoảng $1000 dollars. Các em sẽ ngại đi nếu các em không có tiền mua vé máy bay.
Nếu quý vị nghĩ đây là một cơ hội để đào tạo giới trẻ làm vững mạnh cộng đồng, thì xin quý vị ủng hộ tùy theo khả năng của mình. Các em sẽ phải tự lo tiền trại phí khoảng $165 dollars cho ba ngày rưỡi tại trại. Quý vị có thể ủng hộ bằng tiền mặt hay bằng chi phiếu cho Cộng đồng người Việt Quốc gia vùng Montreal. Tôi sẽ nhờ anh Lâm Quang Hồ, thủ quỹ của Cộng đồng làm sổ sách cho đúng phép tắc.

Lên Đường Camp has been the place to be for over 3,300 Vietnamese- North American students and professionals during the past thirteen years. Interested attendees are highly encouraged to register early. Space is limited and Lên Đường Camp has consistently received more registrations than available space.

If you have led some community projects in which you applied the skills you learned from camp Len Duong, please consider applying for the $1000 Vera Tran Award to share with campers the great things you learned from the camp and was able to apply it to your local communities. Vera Tran Award will be presented at camp Len Duong 2011 in the memory of our outstanding VCSA Executive Member Vera Tran, who passed away in 2003.
